This 12-in memory foam mattress is composed of 7 inches of polyurethane foam as base and the remaining 5 inches as viscoelastic memory foam.
The secret to achieving comfortable sleep with the California King is in its innovative double layer of airflow foam that is embedded in its base of polyurethane foam.
The California King 12” has a density rating of 5.3lbs. This is the highest density rating in its class. When fully unpacked, it measures 7ft x 6ft x 1ft and weighs approximately 110lbs.

Pros for the California King 12in Memory Foam
One of the most impressive features that I noticed with our California King 12” is that it didn’t smell as bad as others say in their reviews online. But to be honest, it did have its trademark chemical smell but it was gone after a day or two (I just didn’t care. I was to engrossed enjoying my deep sleep:)
Another positive remark I can give this memory foam mattress is that its firmness is perfect for me. Rated with a density of 5.3lbs, the firmness of this memory foam rubs me in ways I couldn’t really explain. I know people say that 3-4 lbs density rating is best but that is a very relative number really. I like mine at 5lbs because after some time of use, it did “soften” a bit (maybe down to 4.5).

Complaints about the California King 12in Memory Foam
Even if the California King has been very efficiently packed, because of its sheer large size (7ft x 6ft x 1ft), it’s expected that this is indeed very heavy. Carrying this mattress upstairs was a feat for me and my wife because it weighed about 110lbs (~50 kgs.).
It took us about 2 hours to unpack this memory foam mattress from its vacuum packing. Not that were in so much of a hurry but were just excited to lay our old backs on this baby that 2 hours seemed like forever.

My final verdict:
The California King memory mattress may be a hassle to handle around especially if your room is small due to its size and sheer weight but you will find that this is one of the best memory foam mattress available in the market today.
